Looking at a Phu Quoc map before your trip helps you understand how big the island is, where to stay and how to group attractions into sensible routes. Phu Quoc is about 50km from north to south, so picking the right base saves a lot of travel time.
This guide splits the island into its main areas, with highlights and reference distances. On the ground, Google Maps is handy for navigation.
Overview of the island
Phu Quoc is roughly triangular, narrowing to a point in the south. It divides into four main travel areas:
- Duong Dong town (west coast): the main town, night market, plenty of restaurants and hotels.
- Long Beach (southwest): a long stretch of beach lined with resorts, close to the airport.
- The south (An Thoi): Hon Thom cable car, Sao Beach, Khem Beach and island tours.
- The north (Ganh Dau, Bai Dai): unspoiled nature and large entertainment complexes.

Reference distances from Duong Dong
